This week on the blog, I’m sharing one of my favorite sessions with the Denk family at Centennial Park in Springfield, IL. Everything about this evening was magical. From the wildflowers in full bloom to a sky so beautiful it needed no photoshop, it felt like everything aligned perfectly for their family photos in Springfield, IL.
When I first began my photography journey, I had the joy of photographing Breana's senior year. I loved getting to know her and her mom back then, so when their family reached out for updated portraits, I was thrilled. Sessions like this remind me why I love being a Springfield, IL family photographer. I love getting to reconnect with families and capture new chapters in their story.
This session also carried extra meaning. With Breana preparing to leave for Basic Training, these portraits became more than just photos. They became a way to hold onto this season of life and preserve memories they’ll treasure forever.
We met at Centennial Park in Springfield about an hour before sunset, also known as golden hour. Between the glowing light, trees, and wildflowers, it was the perfect setting for their session. Centennial Park is one of my favorite spots for family photography in Springfield, IL, because it offers such a mix of natural beauty. I highly recommend this location for a variety of sessions!
From the start, I asked if they were open to some fun, candid shots, and they were completely on board! We spent the evening laughing, playing, and creating authentic moments together. Their gallery is full of genuine smiles and connection, the kind of images that will bring them right back to this time whenever they look at them.
