A Look Back at the Burton Family Session


Spring has finally arrived, and I couldn’t be more excited! After the unpredictable weather here in Springfield, IL, the warm sunshine feels like a breath of fresh air. As I reflect on some of my favorite photography sessions, one that stands out is my time with the Burton family. A Perfect Family Photo Session in Williamsville, IL


I’ve known Anna for a while, and last summer, she reached out to schedule a family session in Williamsville. When I arrived, she greeted me with a laugh and said, “Good luck!”—unsure of how the kids would handle the session. But capturing young children is where I thrive!


As we waited for everyone to gather, I focused on candid shots of the kids playing. These unscripted moments often become some of the most treasured images! Once the entire family was ready, we jumped into their family's posed and candid portraits. We made sure to capture:


  • Full family portraits – A mix of posed and candid shots showcasing their unique bond.
  • Individual family units – Highlighting each group’s special connection.
  • Sibling moments – Capturing the joy and laughter between the kids.
  • Solo portraits – Ensuring each family member had a special spotlight moment.


To wrap up the session, we let the kids run, laugh, and enjoy the summer breeze while I snapped those authentic, joy-filled moments that truly reflect their personalities.
