Spring Mini Sessions in Springfield IL
Spring is a beautiful time of year, and also a beautiful time to update your family photos. They also happen to be some of my most popular mini sessions throughout the year! In this blog, I'll be sharing all the details for my spring and wildflower minis, why mini sessions are great options for families, and all the details on preparing for spring minis!
Spring Minis on April 18 in Springfield IL
My Spring Minis will take place on April 18 at Washington Park. Each session is 15 minutes and includes 5 professionally edited images, with the option to purchase additional images if you would like more. These sessions are ideal for families, couples, and children and are designed to move quickly while still allowing space for natural interaction.
Spring in central Illinois offers soft light and fresh greenery that creates a timeless backdrop for photos. These sessions are limited and tend to fill quickly each year.
Wildflower Minis on July 11 at Centennial Park in Springfield IL
I will also be hosting Wildflower Minis on July 11 at Centennial Park in Springfield IL. These sessions are scheduled later in the season so the wildflowers are fully bloomed and at their peak. Centennial Park is a favorite location for Springfield IL family photography because of its open space, natural light, and seasonal color.
Each wildflower mini session is 15 minutes and includes 5 edited images, with the option to purchase additional images. The setting offers a more colorful and organic feel and is perfect for families who love a natural outdoor look.
Why Mini Sessions Are a Great Option for Families
Mini sessions work especially well for families with young children or busy schedules. Fifteen minutes is often the sweet spot where kids are happy, parents are relaxed, and genuine moments happen naturally.
One of the biggest concerns I hear from parents when booking mini sessions is whether their kids will cooperate. As a mom myself, I completely understand that hesitation. What I have learned over time is that shorter sessions are often better for kids. They stay engaged, feel less pressure, and are more likely to show genuine smiles and personality.
To help families feel prepared, I send out a detailed prep guide before every mini session. It includes tips on how to talk to your kids about photos, how to keep things fun, and how to help them feel comfortable when they arrive. My approach during sessions is relaxed and playful, allowing kids time to warm up and be themselves.
Mini sessions are also a great option if you want updated photos without the commitment of a full session. They are perfect for seasonal images, milestone updates, or simply documenting your family as you are right now. You still receive professionally edited images, just in a more streamlined format.
If you are searching for a Springfield IL photographer for spring or early summer family photos, both spring minis and wildflower minis are a great opportunity to capture this season of life.
When a Mini Session Might Not Be the Best Fit
While mini sessions are a great option for many families, they are not the right fit for everyone. If you have a specific location in mind, want multiple locations, need extended family photos, or prefer a slower paced session with more variety, a full session may be a better option. Mini sessions are designed to be quick and efficient, with a set location and limited time.
If you are unsure which option is best for your family, I am always happy to help you decide.
All in all, I am so excited for my upcoming mini sessions! To book a slot, click the link below! See you this spring and summer!
